Educational Background & Recommendation
Dynamic Release Technique Systems (DRT) strongly recommends—but does not require—that students complete Active Release Techniques® (ART®) training under the instruction of Dr. Michael Leahy before enrolling in advanced DRT courses.
ART provides an exceptional foundation in anatomy, palpation, biomechanics, tissue assessment, and soft tissue treatment principles that complements the education provided within the Dynamic Release Technique System.
Core Foundational Pillars Provided by ART®:
- Comprehensive Functional Anatomy
- Biomechanics & Kinetic Motion
- Palpation & Tissue Assessment
- Soft Tissue Treatment Principles
- Advanced Course Integration
Building Upon Foundational Mastery
Although ART certification is not a prerequisite, students with an ART background often gain an even greater appreciation for the advanced concepts taught in Passive Release Techniques (PRT), Nitric Oxide Release (NOR), Dynamic Instruments (DI), and Soft Tissue & Osseous Manipulation Under Anesthesia (STOMUA).
