Refund Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy covers cancellations, refunds, transfers, and the resolution of grievances for DRT continuing education programs. It applies to seminar fees paid directly to Dynamic Release Techniques (“DRT”). It is part of, and should be read with, our Terms & Conditions and Seminar Registration Agreement. Travel package components are also governed by the Adventure Travel Package Terms. This policy is posted on the registration page and is sent with every registration confirmation. Changes to this policy apply only to registrations made after the change is posted.

1. How to cancel

Send a written cancellation request by email to Rachel Wilson, DRT Operations Manager, at rachelw.drt@gmail.com. Include your name, course title, course date, and registration confirmation information. The date DRT receives your email is the cancellation date.

2. Refund schedule

3. Refund processing

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method whenever possible and are initiated within 5 to 7 business days after approval. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund.

4. Partial attendance and removal

Partial attendance or leaving early does not qualify for a refund after the first session, unless the grievance process below results in one. A participant who is removed from a program for violating the Code of Conduct or for safety reasons is not entitled to a refund. DRT may also refuse a refund, credit, or transfer when a registration appears to have been made to obtain course materials for a use that this policy or the Seminar Registration Agreement does not allow.

5. Online STOMUA module

Attendees in the $1,899 full-course tier may opt out of the 16-hour online STOMUA module at registration for $350 off, for a seminar-only price of $1,549. The $899 and $999 tiers do not include an opt-out. Once you have accessed the online module, the $350 module portion of your fee is not refundable, and the refund schedule above applies to the rest of your seminar fee.

6. Transfers and credits

Seminar registrations are non-transferable to another person unless DRT approves the substitution in writing before the event. You may ask to move your registration to another DRT seminar. If DRT approves the move and the new seminar costs more, you pay the difference at the time of the move. Credits expire 12 months after the date of the seminar you originally booked. Credits have no cash value and are not refundable.

7. Changes made by DRT

If DRT changes a seminar’s date or location in a material way, you may choose to transfer to the rescheduled seminar, take a credit toward a future DRT seminar of equal value, or receive a full refund of the seminar fee paid to DRT. Changes in faculty or the order of the curriculum are not material changes.

8. Travel packages and third-party bookings

Adventure travel packages are sold combined and itemized as “Travel package + Seminar” or “Travel package.” The seminar portion of a combined package follows this policy. The travel portion follows the Adventure Travel Package Terms and the cancellation terms disclosed at booking. Flights, hotels, cruises, excursions, travel insurance, tour operators, transportation, and other suppliers set their own terms, deadlines, and non-refundable charges, and DRT is not responsible for their refunds, penalties, surcharges, or deposits. Wait for DRT’s written registration confirmation before you buy flights, lodging, or other travel you cannot cancel. We strongly recommend travel insurance.

9. Grievances

DRT wants every concern about its continuing education programs resolved fairly, promptly, and respectfully.

How to file. Submit your grievance in writing by email to Rachel Wilson, DRT Operations Manager, at rachelw.drt@gmail.com within 14 calendar days after the seminar.

What to include. Your name, course title and date, contact information, a clear description of the concern, and any supporting documents.

What may be raised. Concerns about seminar content, delivery, administration, registration, instructor conduct, the learning environment, accessibility, or other program-related issues. Grievances must be filed by the registered participant.

Review. DRT program administration confirms that the grievance is timely and complete. DRT education leadership then reviews it and may ask the participant, instructors, venue, or staff for more information.

Decision. DRT will send a written decision within 14 calendar days after receiving the grievance. If more time is reasonably needed, we will tell you in writing.

Possible outcomes. A full or partial refund; a credit toward another DRT seminar of equal or lesser value within 12 months; correction of a registration, attendance, or certificate record; an educational remedy such as supplemental materials; or a written explanation if no action is warranted. Dissatisfaction with educational content alone does not guarantee a refund or credit.

Escalation. If you are not satisfied with the decision, you may ask in writing, within 14 calendar days of the decision, for a final review by DRT’s Director of Education.

Records. DRT keeps records of grievances, reviews, and resolutions as required by continuing education recordkeeping standards.

10. Products

Dynamic Instruments and other products bought directly from DRT follow the return terms shown at checkout. Unless the checkout page says otherwise, unused items in their original packaging may be returned for a refund or exchange within [product return window] days of delivery. Personalized items can be returned only if they arrive defective. Course manuals and other course materials follow the seminar refund and transfer rules above, not this section.

11. Your legal rights

If applicable consumer protection laws give you greater refund rights than this policy, those laws control.
