Fascia is a continuous connective-tissue network surrounding muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, blood vessels, and joints.
When fascial layers become restricted, normal tissue glide and force transmission are reduced. NOR places specific fascial pathways under controlled tensile load to improve extensibility and restore movement between adjacent tissues.
The term release refers to decreased restrictive tension and improved tissue excursion.

Nitric oxide, or NO, is a short-lived gas produced naturally within endothelial, neural, muscular, and immune tissues.
In the vascular system, nitric oxide activates the NO–cGMP pathway, producing smooth-muscle relaxation and vasodilation. This supports regional blood flow, microcirculation, oxygen delivery, and tissue perfusion.
NOR does not introduce nitric oxide into the body. The controlled stretching used in NOR provides mechanical stimulation that supports the body’s normal nitric oxide response.
